1) Top Width Measurement

Starting a couple of inches down from the top of the frame, measure the distance between

the sling rail slot from center to center on each side of the frame to the nearest 1/8 inch. A soft flexible tape measure works best. Round your measurement to the nearest 1/8 inch. You don’t want to add anything for seam allowance, etc. Slingfabs will take care of that for you.

HINT: You can get the most accurate measurement by measuring from the edges of the     channel (right/right or left/left) i.e. left edge of the channel on the left side to the left edge     of the channel on the right side.

2) Front Width Measurement

The front is measured exactly as the top. Please do not assume the front width is the same as the top as it is usually slightly different and the difference will effect the final outcome.

3) Back and Seat Length Measurement

Using your flexible tape measure, start at the top of the frame where the end cap meets the metal frame rail. Follow the contour of the sling rail making sure to measure every bit of the rail from the top to the bottom. Round to the nearest 1/8 inch. Do not add anything for hem allowance. Slingfabs will do that for you. HINT: a small clamp can be very helpful in this step by holding the material in place where you begin with your measurement.

4) Arch Back Measurement (optional)

Using a straight edge such as a yardstick, take the measurement of the arch at the center of the chair back and round to the nearest 1/4 inch.
